The Best Travel Podcasts To Fuel Your Wanderlust

One way we keep our wanderlust fueled while at home is to listen to travel podcasts. We find that they’re a great way to learn about and get inspired to explore new destinations. If you are wanting to prioritize travel more in your life, podcasts are a great way to stay focused on this goal. But browsing through the hundreds of thousands of available podcasts can be overwhelming. To make it easier for you, we share below the best travel podcasts that we regularly listen to:

Zero to Travel Podcast

ZERO TO TRAVEL

Host: Jason Moore
Website: zerototravel.com/travel-podcast

The first travel podcast we ever listened to was Zero to Travel. This is a great show for all travelers, especially for those who are interested in location independence and the digital nomad lifestyle. Host Jason Moore brings on various guests to discuss their unique lifestyles and experiences. You’ll learn more about what it’s like to live in certain countries and how it’s possible to travel full-time. You will also hear about epic adventures, budget travel tips and entrepreneurial advice. If you want to fit more travel into your life, this podcast is a must-listen!

Extra Pack of Peanuts Podcast

EXTRA PACK OF PEANUTS

Hosts: Travis and Heather Sherry
Website: extrapackofpeanuts.com/show

Extra Pack of Peanuts is hosted by the husband-wife team of Travis and Heather Sherry. They are former teachers who love traveling and are now location-independent entrepreneurs. Their show has a nice balance of personal travel anecdotes and guest interviews. Their own stories primarily focus on city-based travel, which they go into depth on their Destination Diary episodes. In fact, their Austin episode inspired our own trip to the Texas capital! Their awe-inspiring guests include everyone from full-time traveling families to adventure seekers that bike from one end of the Earth to another. For practical travel advice as well as amazing stories, be sure to add EPOP to your podcast list!

JUMP

Host: Jackie Nourse
Website: travelingjackie.com/podcast

Originally called the Budget-Minded Traveler podcast, JUMP is a show hosted by Jackie Nourse, better known as Traveling Jackie. Her focus is primarily on adventure travel and challenging yourself. So if you love hiking, cycling and similar activities, you’ll feel right at home with her podcast. When she doesn’t have a guest on, you’ll get to know Jackie better through her personal stories of triumphs and struggles. If you’re interested in destinations like Costa Rica or Patagonia, you’ll also want to check out some of the trips that Jackie leads throughout the year. All travelers, especially female adventurers, should give JUMP a listen.

Amateur Traveler Podcast

AMATEUR TRAVELER

Host: Chris Christensen
Website: amateurtraveler.com/tag/travel-podcast

Amateur Traveler is our vote for the best general travel podcast. Host Chris Christensen features a guest on each episode knowledgeable about a certain location and they dive into general information, itinerary ideas, travel tips and more. For each place, Chris ends the episode by asking his guests where the prettiest spot is, a thing about the location that makes them laugh, and to describe the place in 3 words. It’s not always the most exciting podcast with generally mellow conversations, but we love the impressive library of episodes. If you’re wanting to learn more about a destination, chances are you’ll find an episode on it.

Capture the Magic Podcast

CAPTURE THE MAGIC

Hosts: Jared and Jamie Lee
Website: capturethemagicpodcast.com/episodes

If you’re a Disney World fan, you’ll want to give Capture The Magic a listen. Hosted by husband and wife Jared and Jamie Lee, they provide everything from Disney World news, reviews of hotels and festivals, the histories of famous attractions, and more. They also occasionally have guests on to share how different people plan Disney trips. We also enjoy their bracket challenges where they debate and vote which rides are the best, etc. Whether you’re a Disney World newbie or a seasoned pro, Capture The Magic provides something for everyone.

MAIN STREET MAGIC

Hosts: Jeremy and Rhonda Stein
Website: mainstmagic.com

Main Street Magic is another great Disney World podcast. We particularly enjoy that hosts Jeremy and Rhonda regularly bring on their daughters for a kids’ perspective on all things Disney World. They are also regulars at Universal Studios and share news and experiences from there as well. You’ll find plenty of hotel reviews, restaurant reviews and other fun conversations around these two world-famous theme parks. If you’re headed to the Orlando area, be sure to give the Stein family a listen.
